Healthy Take on Cozy Fall Inspired Drinks

There’s just something about cozy drinks that add a little extra bliss to colder months. These fall-inspired drinks are a simple and a more health-focused take on some season-favorites. This golden cinnamon milk tea and Mexican spice hot cacao are two of my favorites that are just as delicious minus all the added sugar. Plus! some of their added health perks may peak your interest.

Golden Cinnamon Milk Tea

First, if you like turmeric tea and chai, you’ll love this combination. This milk tea is a take on a golden latte but with a more cinnamon forward flavor. If a supplement version of turmeric is incorporated this drink is high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. A powder supplement version of turmeric is necessary for this to be relevant. This is because most supplement versions are formulated for the body to optimally process the ingredient. If turmeric is being incorporated for the flavor alone then the spice is great too. Both recipes serving sizes equal two.

Golden Cinnamon Milk Tea

Ingredients

  • 1:1 cup oat milk and hot water
  • 1 tsp honey or monk fruit
  • 1 bag cinnamon tea bag option to sub for 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4-1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla Powder

Mexican Spice Hot Cacao

Next, a twist on a season favorite. The tips for making Mexican hot cacao are simple. Make sure a high-quality cacao is used and an all-natural sweeter. By replacing the traditional hot cocoa mix for cacao this drink goes from ultra sugary to a more rich, chocolatey version, than your traditional cocoa. This cacao is a healthy treat full of nutrients like iron magnesium and potassium that promote healthy blood pressure and improved focus. Looking to spice up the season favorite? Add the spices listed in the recipe and you may never have your cocoa “the regular way again.”
