Mint Chaga Latte: UP your AM Health Game
Looking to change up your morning caffeine routine? With all of the buzz around herbs and mushrooms, I was willing to try out one of the crafty ways to incorporate one of them without having to take a boring supplement. A perfect mix of comfort and refreshing this mint Chaga latte is it! Mostly praised for its antioxidant and anti-aging qualities I decided to try Chaga, short for Chaga Mushroom. This, combine with it providing a natural energy boost it turns out it’s the perfect way to up your AM health game!
Benefits
The Chaga Mushroom is one of the many adaptogenic plants that basically helps the body’s ability to cope with physical and psychological stressors. The adaptogen promotes hormone and digestion balance as well as promotes heart and nervous system functionality. Overall this encourages your body to find and stay in a natural rhythm. Extra perk? it serves as an anti-aging ally by acting as a UV defense, promoting the production of collagen, and aiding the fight against breakouts.
Forms of Chaga
From pure organic powder to tea to a premixed powder supplement the herb isn’t limited to just the typical capsule form. Just something to be mindful of is that with different forms may come different quality so also look to see how the herb is sourced. If you are seeking to incorporate Chaga casually, adding a small amount in your morning tea, smoothie or coffee is a great way to introduce it into your system.
Try it!
Whether you prefer a flavored tea or an iced latte version this recipe works great for either. Making the tea version? It still has that creamy comfort taste of a latte but with a refreshing twist. Interested in the latte version? My favorite way to prepare it is iced, allowing the espresso to cool naturally then combine and add over ice.
